June Secretary Report
The June Triple C 4H meeting was held on June 2, 2008 at 7:00 at the RRVF grounds. Amanda called the meeting to order. Pledges were said; the American was led by Brett and the 4H pledge was led by Amanda. Roll call was taken and the topic was ‘What is your favorite cartoon character.’ There were 11 members present, 17 members absent, and 9 guests. The secretary’s report was read by Shannah and the horseshow profits were read by Lori.
People who were going to the State Fair were asked to bring ideas on how to decorate the stalls this year. People who were planning on going are Tina, Michaela, Shannah, Sammy, Ally, and maybe Camryn and Sarah. Last year we spent about 20$-30$ on each stall for decorations. The kids that were going were asked to discuss what theme we might want to do this year as a club after the meeting.
The Triple C club is scheduled to work at the RRVF 4H food stand on Thursday, June, 19 from 11:00-2:30. We decided it will be split into two shifts. The first shift would be from 11:00-12:45 and the second shift would be from 12:45-2:30. Sarah, Brett, Michaela, Lori, and Morgan said that they would be able to work the first shift and Shannah, Sammy, Camryn, Ally, and Leslie said that they can work the second shift. New rules were talked about such as washing your hands thoroughly, keep tables clean all the time, and only have one person working the register and with money.
The club is also scheduled for cleanup on Sunday, June, 22 from 5-8 in the 4H building. The whole club is asked to come and help out.
Conference judging for the Triple C club is scheduled to be on June 11th, from noon-2:00 in the 4H building.
The 4H horseshow is scheduled on Wednesday, June 18 at the RRVF. The starting time is 8:30. All contestants must where proper 4H attire with emblem on shirt.
For the Triple C community service project this year we decided to paint the arena and benches at the fairgrounds. We were to meet on Wednesday, June 4th after one PM at the arena. Shannah, Michaela, Sammy, Sarah, and Heidi said they would be able to make it. We were also going to meet on Tuesday, June 10 at 10:00. Brett, Lori, and Shannah said they would be able to make it. People were asked to bring pick-ups, old clothes, glasses, brooms, rakes, leaf blowers, CD players, and CD’s.
The 4H foundation has set up a Helping 4H Grow fundraiser for 4H clubs. The 4H foundation sponsors 4H scholarships and the youth conference each year. To help out with Helping 4H Grow. One, three, or five dollars can be donated per member each year, for a series of years, to get prizes and to help 4H. Ally made a motion that we donate 3$ per member to the cause, Camryn 2nd.
Riding nights at the RRVF grounds have been set up for open riding. This takes place on Wednesday nights from 6-9 PM. You must pay 5$ to participate. You also need a negative coggins test with you.
There was talk of giving money to the members who go to the State Fair to help with the cost of gas. This would be talked about and voted on at the next meeting as well as the amount of money.
A reminder was sent out to work on project books and record books.
Ally motioned that during the July meeting we would work on filling out our record books, Bryce 2nd.
There was a motion to adjourn the meeting by Sarah, Tina 2nd.
