OCTOBER SECRETARY REPORT

The last meeting was on October 6^th, 2008 at the Sheyenne Ninth Grade Center and was held at 7:00. Ally called the meeting to order. The pledges were said, Skyler leading the American and Bryce leading the 4H pledge. The roll call topic was ‘What is your favorite NFL star?’ There were 21 members present, 1 member absent, and 13 guests. The secretary report was read by Shannah.

                Old Business:

We started with the Festival of Wreaths. Kathy was put in charge of buying the trees. Sammy, Morgan, Bryce, and Shannah volunteered to help decorate them. We decided that we would decorate and donate two of them.

We handed out awards for the people who didn’t attend the awards day banquet.

We got our new project books and were told to pay Tina for them at the end of the meeting.

Prize sheets were to be filled out by the members who were in 4H last year at the last meeting and prizes were picked and handed back to Lori in this meeting.

New Business:

We talked about respecting the property and cleaning up after the meetings so we could continue to have them at the fairgrounds.

NDSU rodeo concessions- Wendy and Kathy were put in charge buying the food. Every family was to bring bars to the concessions. We also need extension cords. We were to work from 11:00 Friday afternoon until the rodeo was done on Saturday evening.

We broke into groups and passes around ideas for clinics. Some ideas were stretching your horse, dentistry, farrier, and hipology for outside the arena. We also thought of drill team, english, showmanship, goat tying and trail for inside the arena.

We talked about the Christmas party. Some ideas were going to the horse park for the day and riding, bowling, skate land, renting the YMCA gym, ice skating, going to the dike, sleigh ride, and swimming at Moorhead State. We voted (not including horse park due to dates available) and the top three were skate land, YMCA gym, and a sleigh ride. Bryce and Thomas were to find out prices.

We got a thank you from Sundance riding from our donation to them last year.

The members were asked if anyone was interested in being the new youth director for the FM Posse show committee.

Members were asked if they wanted to attend the Mystery Holiday Workshop.

We talked about tentative horse show dates for our club show and we decided a tentative date would be May 17^th. Sammy motioned, Kendra seconded

We decided we wanted to work expo this year instead of fair cleanup.

Bryce adjourned, Sarah seconded.
